El Pozo Update – December 2015

The girls on vacation

Each year we can see God´s fidelity more and more, full of blessing and mercy as we see our girls grow and become independent. Two years ago we received a group of nine girls who were all related, sisters and cousins. This year we had to wave goodbye to these girls and it was so hard because we wanted to protect them a little longer.  This is one of the blessings and challenges of our ministry but through it we must have faith that God loves them more that we do, and He will take care of them.  Please keep praying for our former and present girls that God’s dreams are fulfilled in their lives!

Dinner at the Well

One of our former girls is studying gastronomy. She moved back with an older sister for seven months but last month she moved to the transitory house and she is working and studying.  She is the same girl that one year ago was making cookies at the Well and dreaming to become Chef and we are so happy because now she is following her dreams.

Nutritious food at the Well

This year we had the dream to have a new safe house with more space for the girls and in better condition but we did not receive the required funding. We are still praying for a new house and that we know God will provide, however, in the meanwhile we are renovating and providing maintenance to the old house so the girls have a better place to live.

For the past 6 months the girls are receiving a new diet, they eat five times per day so that they activate their metabolism. The girls like it more as they prefer to eat five smaller meals rather than three larger ones.

Beading #1

Beading jewelry

We currently have nine girls ranging from 11 to 17 years old and two girls at the transition house and eight women working at the jewelry project ranging from 26 to 60 years old. Thank you so much for your generous donations and for investing into the lives and health of underage trafficking victims in Mexico City.  Alkare Foundation has been a huge blessing and we ask God to deeply bless you.

Sincerely grateful,

El Pozo de Vida, A.C
