The ALKARE Foundation (pronounced All Care) was founded on February 25th, 1989 in loving memory of Karla Afman.
Karla was a beloved daughter and sister, in a family of 5 brothers. She was an inspiration to many of her friends, inviting them to seek and know Jesus. But after entering a very promising career, her life was cut short when she was tragically killed by a drunk driver.
As a way to honor her memory and the life she led, her family chose to found Alkare on the insurance funds they received after the accident. Alkare has been honoring her memory ever since.
Alkare brings outreach services, including nutrition programs and educational scholarship opportunities, to children in need in economically challenged areas of the world.
